Food Festivals Happening in Chicagoland This October
Summer is often thought of as festival season in Chicago, but that doesn't mean the fun is over when the temperature starts to drop. In fact, some of the best food festivals in Chicagoland take place in the fall.

- Jack's Pumpkin Pop-Up - 1265 W Le Moyne St, Chicago, IL 60642
Every year around this time, Jack's Pumpkin Pop-Up "pops up" along Le Moyne Street just west of the Chicago River. It's the city's largest fall festival, and it will run through November 3, 2024. This massive fall-themed party includes carnival rides and games, Chicago's biggest corn maze, axe-throwing and fortune-telling booths, dozens of food trucks and three full-service bars. Get ready for plenty of fall fun and food at Growing Home HarvestFest on October 19. Taking place at the Englewood Farm Stand, the event includes free food boxes, crafts and activities, local vendors and more. It's hosted by Growing Home, a local organization that provides farm training as well as fresh produce to those in need within the community. - Evanston Main Street Fall Fest - 600 Main St, Evanston, IL 60202
Though Evanston is considered a northern suburb of Chicago, it's also a vibrant city in its own right, and the annual Evanston Main Street Fall Fest is a great showcase for its friendly, small-town charm. Taking place on October 20 from 11 am to 8 pm, the festival is centered around the Evanston Main Street Station and is free to the general public. Expect an abundance of local food and drink, along with live music and an art market. - Bloody Mary Fest - 2401 N DuSable Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60614
You won't want to miss Chicago's Bloody Mary Fest: Bloodies, Brunch & Beyond on October 20. In addition to being a showcase for this ever-versatile beverage, Bloody Mary Fest will include an artisan market and a wide variety of tasty brunch bites. The highlight of the event is a city-wide bloody mary contest, in which attendees can sample and vote on the best Bloody Mary in Chicago. It all takes place at the Theater on the Lake in Lincoln Park. - Chicago's Great Food Expo - 5555 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018
Foodies from all over Chicagoland can expect a great time at the Great Food Expo, a massive food and beverage convention that returns to Chicagoland for its 10th year on October 26 and 27. Highlights include pop-up shops, cooking classes and workshops on topics ranging from cake decorating to mixology. The expo takes place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, not far from the Chicago airport.
