Oktoberfest Celebrations Around Chicagoland

An event that serves as a community fundraiser as well as a celebratory gathering, East Lakeview Neighbors Oktoberfest returns this year to the beloved local watering hole Murphy's Bleachers. The event will include raffle prizes and a live band, along with ample food and drink. Head out to the suburbs to learn a little bit about the history of Oktoberfest at Plank Road Taproom. They'll be hosting Oktoberfest: a Taste of History on September 19, including a chance to explore Oktoberfest through the years while learning (and tasting) the difference between Festbier and Märzen styles of Oktoberfest lagers. Lincoln Park Zoo is a major attraction in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, and tickets are available now for Oktoberfest at Lincoln Park Zoo. St. Alphonsus Church in Lakeview hosts one of Chicago's biggest Oktoberfests every year. The three-day St. Al's Oktoberfest begins with a ceremonial keg tapping on the evening of Friday, September 27, and continues at 7 pm on Sunday. A 12-acre living history museum in the western suburb of Naperville, the Naper Settlement will be hosting its annual Oktoberfest on the first weekend in October. In addition to actors in period garb, Oktoberfest at the Naper Settlement will include traditional German food and drink, live music, and polka and oompah bands. St. Benedict Parrish will be hosting its annual St. Benedict Oktoberfest in the North Center neighborhood once again this year. Spanning three days of festivities, this long-running Oktoberfest event is now in its 58th year. Located at St Benedict Catholic Church, the celebration will include food, drink, music, and entertainment in the Bavarian tradition. - 10/12-10/13 - Oktoberfestiversary - 1800 W Cuyler Ave, Chicago, IL 60613
Co-hosted by neighboring Begyle Brewing and Dovetail Brewery in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood, the annual Oktoberfestiversary celebration returns this year on the second weekend in October. The event marks the 12th anniversary of Begyle Brewing and will include food trucks, live music, and no shortage of top-notch beer from both breweries. Donations will also be accepted to help fight hunger in the local community.
