With the official start of winter on the horizon, it's what our real estate agents like to call "cozy season" in Chicago. It's the perfect time of year to check into a homey bed and breakfast for a little holiday getaway. 

Visitors looking for a place to stay or locals seeking a winter "staycation" will find no shortage of options in each of Chicago's distinct neighborhoods. These are some of our favorite bed and breakfasts in Chicagoland. 

Chicago:

  • Wicker Park Inn - 1331 N Wicker Park Ave, Chicago, IL 60622
    Tucked among the rows of brownstones in Chicago's trendy Wicker Park neighborhood, the historic Wicker Park Inn offers a warm, welcoming ambiance. The historic building — originally built in 1886 — has housed the bed and breakfast since 2004. With exposed brick and vintage wallpaper contrasted by modern design touches, it's a beautiful space. The Wicker Park Inn makes a great home base while exploring the  boutiques, restaurants, music venues and galleries of Wicker Park, which have earned it a reputation as one of the city's hippest neighborhoods.
  • Old Chicago Inn - 3222 N Sheffield Ave, Chicago, IL 60657
    Old-fashioned hospitality is the name of the game at the Old Chicago Inn, a charming bed and breakfast in Lakeview. It's the perfect place to stay if you want to be right where the action is, with attractions like the Vic Theatre and Wrigley Field just a short walk away. The inn offers several rooms of varying sizes and a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. Cocktails are also served in the attached Room 13 venue, which has limited seating by reservation. 
  • Villa D'Citta Bed & Breakfast - 2230 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60614
    Named one of the ten best urban B&Bs in the world by the Huffington Post, Villa D'Citta Bed & Breakfast is home to old world luxury and hospitality. It's a unique place to stay in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, merging the amenities of a high-end hotel with the intimate scale and attention to detail of a small bed and breakfast. Roman-style breakfast pizza is on the morning menu, and dozens of great restaurants are a block or two away. The Inn is also just a 15 to 20-minute walk from the Lincoln Park Zoo and the lakefront.
  • The Publishing House Bed & Breakfast - 108 N May St, Chicago, IL 60607
    Few B&Bs can match the level of acclaim that has been bestowed on the Publishing House Bed & Breakfast, a homey yet elegant inn in Chicago's lively West Loop that has been called the best in Illinois. The brick building housing the establishment was built in 1909 and has served as a publishing house, casket factory, and museum before being renovated and reopened as a bed and breakfast in 2017.
