Mayfest Chicago, fills the streets of Lincoln and Leland Avenues, in the first week of June. The German festival features great German food, beer and a crowning of the years Mayfest Queen. It was voted “Best Fest of 2009” by Chicago’s (RedEye 1/26/10). The neigborhood’s German-American Festival, 4700 North Lincoln Avenue, (630) 653-3018, is filled with German cakes, folk dancers, beer, wine, and live music. Admission is free.
